The start of the cycling tour is in Koper from the Bonifika Parking. From the car park, turn right past the Health Centre and the Police Station, through the underpass and straight across the little bridge over the brook to the bus stop. You are on the other side of Koper in the Olmo area.

Cross the roundabout and turn left. Go 1 km to a large semaphored junction before which you turn right on the cycle path. From here, go 2 km past Hidria inustrial complex, the Mercator Hypermarket shopping centre and straight through the roundabout by the petrol station.

Continue on the pavement until the narrowed section. Here you will join a short stretch of road which, after 50 m, joins a local road. Follow the local road, which used to be the main link between Koper and the hinterland. Here you will follow the same gradient for 13 km. The section is very suitable for cyclists as the road is not busy.

After a good 25 minutes of moderately easy riding, you will arrive at a flat area. The uphill is not over yet. After 100 m turn right uphill and lower your performance to the easiest, because for a good 500 m you will be riding at a 20% gradient.

When you have finished the uphill, you will find yourself on the larger asphalted square of the village of Gazon. From here, turn right at the end of the square up a slight incline. Drive straight ahead to the football field. On the way there you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of Koper and the surrounding hills.

After the playground, follow the asphalted road down to a slight "S" bend. You will drive along a flat road until a sharp bend to the left by a vineyard with a beautiful panorama of Izola and Piran.

From here, continue until a sharp right turn uphill. After 100 m the climbs will be over for the time being. Go downhill to the crossroads at the hamlet of Baredi. We suggest you stop at the crossroads, because if you drive straight on without stopping you will risk an accident.

From here, after 500 m straight ahead at the bus stop, turn left onto the section on the left. Go straight ahead on the asphalted road. Suddenly you will find yourself on a dirt road on a vast plain surrounded on both sides by olive groves.

When the olive grove ends, you will cross back onto the asphalted road. We recommend that you shift back into the lowest gear, as there is another steep uphill to the chapel at Sared. From there, go straight ahead and left across Sared.

Join the main road leading out of Izola at the Saredin bar. Go up a very gentle incline to a crossroads leading to Cetore on one side and on to Malija. You turn right after the village of Malija.

After a descent of about 1 km, you will arrive in Malia. At the car park, turn left uphill through the village. Go straight ahead to the football field.

From here, follow the narrow road down to the main road. Turn left here up a slight incline and follow the road towards Sared. From Sared, follow the winding road down to Izola.

After a few minutes' downhill, you will first pass a motorway overpass. Here you will have to slow down because of lying policemen. At the roundabout, go straight on to the first crossroads, where you turn right past the indutrial zone. On your right you will see the Droga Kolinska factory where spices are produced.

After about 1 km straight ahead, take the third exit at the roundabout and head down towards the sea. You will arrive at the roundabout in front of the Izola campsite.

There you turn left in the direction of Koper and continue straight ahead for 3 km along the cycle road to the first point of interest, Rex, where a boat was sunk in II World War.

From here, drive along the former Izola-Koper Coastal Road to Žusterna, where you can enjoy views of the sea, neighbouring Italy and, if the weather is nice, the Alps.

In Žusterna, near the town beach and the water sports centre, continue along the cycle road until you reach the roundabout for bicycles. Take the second exit towards Koper. Follow the cycle road past the recreation areas and the new park. At the park you will see a gravel parking area and a roundabout. Turn right here to leave the Bonifika stadium where your car park is.
